Luminis 2024 Unveils Innovation and Creativity in a Grand STEAM Exhibition

Luminis 2024 opened with great excitement as our STEAM exhibition was inaugurated by our esteemed Principal, Dr. Saifudheen P. Hamza, Managing Director Dr. Abdussalam Olayat, and Vice Principal Ms. Mary Brigeet, whose leadership continues to inspire a spirit of creativity and learning. We were honored to host distinguished guests, including Mr. Jafar Karayil, President of Gulf Vartha; Ms. Elizabeth Cherian, Principal of The English School, UAQ; and Ms. Anjana Iraddi, Principal of Wise Indian School, UAQ.

The event showcased the incredible talents and hard work of our students, who presented groundbreaking STEM projects integrating AI, as well as participating in an exciting entrepreneurship competition, working model displays, and “best idea” presentations aligned with the UAE 2031 vision. With the invaluable support of teachers and parents, every department brought unique projects to life. Students from The English School and Wise Indian School joined in, adding to the collaborative spirit of the event.

School Hosts Karate Yellow Belt Grading Test Inauguration

On November 1, 2024, our school auditorium was alive with enthusiasm as we proudly hosted the Karate Yellow Belt Grading Test Inauguration. The ceremony was graced by our Managing Director, Dr. Abdusalam Olayat, who delivered an inspiring inaugural address, joined by our respected Principal Dr. Saifudheen P. Hamsa, Vice Principal Mary Brigeet, and Admin Manager Sahad Moideen.

Adding to the prestige of the event, we were honored to welcome Grading Master Sensei Lewis Tito as our chief guest. A renowned figure in the martial arts community, Sensei Tito is a seven-time All India Open Karate Champion, four-time Champion of Champions, and five-time All India Open Kata Champion. Following a powerful presidential address by our Principal, Vice Principal Mary Brigeet shared warm, encouraging words with the students and faculty.

Post-ceremony, Sensei Lewis Tito conducted the grading test for Yellow Belt candidates from Grades 1–8, with support from our dedicated karate instructor, Mrs. Pallavi. The event marked a significant milestone for our young martial artists, providing them with invaluable experience and encouragement. It was truly a memorable day for our school, celebrating the spirit of discipline, perseverance, and achievement in martial arts.

Our school proudly participated in this prestigious tournament, where our talented girls showcased outstanding dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Their hard work paid off as they secured the first Runner-Up position in both categories,This achievement reflects the students' relentless effort and commitment, and the school leadership couldn’t be prouder of their remarkable performance on the field. World Environment Day

New Indian School Umm Al Quwain Leads Environmental Initiative on World Environment Day
In Umm Al Quwain, UAE, the New Indian School Umm Al Quwain took a proactive stance on World Environment Day, hosting a series of impactful events geared towards raising awareness about environmental conservation. Led by the school's managing director, Dr Abdusalam Olayat, and principal, Dr Saifudheen P Hamsa, the emphasis was firmly placed on the crucial role of tree plantation in safeguarding the planet for future generations.

The event saw a diverse gathering comprising faculty, students, and esteemed guests, including Mr Yasir V.K., the president of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), and Mr Melvin, representing the Mall of Umm Al Quwain. Together, they focused on concrete actions to combat climate change.

A highlight of the day was Mr. Melvin's generous donation of various plants to the school, highlighting the significance of public-private partnerships in environmental initiatives. In response, the school announced an ambitious plantation drive, with plans to plant 1000 saplings within its campus.

The initiative gained momentum as members of the PTA committee, representatives from the Mall of Umm Al Quwain, Vice Principal Mrs. Mary Brigeet, the Admin Manager Mr. Sahad, teachers, and enthusiastic students came together to plant trees and saplings across the school grounds. The atmosphere was one of unity and resolve as participants collaborated to make a tangible difference in their local environment.

Both Dr. Abdusalam Olayat and Dr. Saifudheen P Hamsa reiterated the school's dedication to sustainability, stressing the importance of instilling environmental responsibility in students. They emphasized the educational value of hands-on experiences like tree planting in fostering a deeper connection to nature among the student body.

The World Environment Day celebrations at the New Indian School Umm Al Quwain served as a poignant reminder of the power of collective action in addressing pressing environmental challenges. As saplings found their place in the fertile soil of the school campus, so too did the seeds of hope for a greener, more sustainable future.

The New Indian School proudly congratulates Ms.Asma Batool for qualifying and securing a teaching position at one of the renowned schools in Irving, Texas USA as part of the cultural program exchange.
