The World Book Day, in commemoration with the Birthday of William Shakespear was celebrated in its true sense and spirit proclaiming the importance of reading in one's life. The long hour programme, well organized by the English Department under the leadership of Ms.Vidhya Madhu witnessed an inspiring speech by Fadil with quotes and maxims underscoring the role of books in life. The long array of Shakespearean and other fictional characters including Alice, Thumbalina, Sherlockholms, Robinson Crusoe, etc. took the students to the world of fantasies thereafter. The Court Scene, extracted from The Merchant of Venice of Shakespeare, was reenacted by the girls of Grade 09 in the true archaic version from the text, sending the students to appreciate and applaud throughout. Towards the end of the day's programme, the Literary Club of the School was inaugurated. Aazim Amin and Asma Abdul Shukur were selected as Club Secretaries. Other events included Story Narration by Krishnapriya, Book review by Anjana Ranjith and Fadhiya and A Book Dance by Students of Grade 02. The events were anchored by Dhanush and Aazim.
